Sunday September 15:  First and most important:  The presentation for our meeting on Sunday September 15 at 3 – 5 PM at Northumberland Library will be “Russian Election Interference:  It’s About More Than Elections” by Col. Joe Schlatter (Ret.)  and Dennis Dalpino, DOD (Ret.) using their career experience in the intelligence community to examine Russia’s cyber warfare against our democracy.  Please plan to support our speakers, and invite your friends to join us.

Wednesday, September 18:

Rappahannock Indivisible, We the People 7 PM at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 366 James Wharf Road will host 3 candidates for Commonwealth’s Attorney to present their thoughts and visions for an effective, fair and Just criminal justice system.

Thursday, September 19:

Northumberland Democrats at 7 pm at Northumberland Library.   The speaker for this meeting is Supervisor Tommy Tomlin.  Mr. Tomlin represents Northumberland County’s 4th District on the Board of Supervisors.

Friday, September 20:

Climate March 11-2 in DC with Greta Thunberg.  At this point we am not aware of any Northern Neck activities.

Saturday, September 21:

We the People March in DC with over 60 Solidarity Marches organizing throughout the US, but none at this point in Virginia.  www.wethepeoplemarch2019.org   Several of us will be staying at the JW Marriott if anyone wants to connect.

Tuesday, September 24:

Interracial Conversations at Mt. Olive Baptist.  Potluck at 5PM, program at 6PM  Dr. Soji Akomolafe, Chair of the Department of Political Science at Norfolk State University has agreed to lead the discussion on the Jim Crow laws and the continuing effects of the Jim Crow era, specifically, the implications for unequal justice under the law, societal stereotypes and barriers to advancement,  and multi-generational wealth effects for black citizens.

Thursday, September 26: 

Lancaster Democrats are sponsoring a “Meet the Candidates” at Kilmarnock Town Park with live music and refreshments from 5pm to 7pm.
